President’s Palette

Isn't it exciting? A New Year will be here in just a few days!! But how did the old year pass so fast?! It has been an exciting year for the Brazos Valley Art League!.

* We have grown from a membership of about 60 to 90+ members!

* We started a Summer Art Program for Children.

* We had two Member Shows and Two Juried Shows.

* We participated in the Texas Reds Festival and the Art Steps Auction.

* We gave Scholarships to two deserving High School Graduates.

* We took a trip to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.

* We had a Retreat at Camp Allen.

* We had one Workshop and numerous Demos.

* We had three Special Paint Days at the Gallery.

I'll bet you didn't realize how busy we had been!!! Wow and just think. . .We already have plans for more in 2008! If everything goes as planned we will do all the above in 2008 plus more. . .

* Youth Gallery at the Arts Council Building

* Spring Sale for Art and Supplies

* An added Scholarship!

It is so gratifying to be a part of such an active art league. It has been a great pleasure to serve as your President. I have had such a dedicated Board of Directors to work with, everyone has taken their responsibilities seriously and done a wonderful job.

It is just so great for look forward to a New Year. . . .Growing and actively moving forward with Arts in the Brazos Valley!. . . .Remember to tell your friends that are Artists, or are interested in Art, about the league and urge them to join. Give them a call before the next meeting and ask them to come to a meeting as your guest!

JANUARY MEETING

The meeting will be January 7^th at 12:00. The demo artist will be Don Lietzau. Don does portrait paintings in watercolor.

BOARD MEETING

The board meeting will be Thursday January

3rd at 11:00 AM at Jeanne Price’s house, 6019 Augusta Cir. We will have Hobo Stew. (Bring any ingredient to put in the stew. This always turns out good no matter what is brought. The meeting will follow lunch.
