President's Palette

Wow! What a great meeting we had September 10. We had 5 new members and the program was just so much fun. Seems like everyone there enjoyed the hands on demo. Sharon Elmendorf did the program and we all painted small abstract watercolors that she is going to find great images in and return to us at a later date.

The excitement for me this month is my show at the gallery titled "Floral Splendor"! My works will be hanging October 1-18. I sure hope that many of you will attend the reception on Thursday, October 4, at 5:30pm. I need all your support!

Everyone needs to be getting ready for the Fall Juried Show being judged on Saturday, October 20. Get busy and paint some wonderful new work between now and then!

Everyone be sure to check on the Lone Star Art Guild website for shows and workshops at other leagues. It is so much fun to go and meet other artists, and I like getting ribbons. I know that doesn't interest some, but I think it is exciting. Guess it's just the kid in me.

We will have another "Paint Day" on Wednesday, October 24. Sure would like to see more of you participate. It is so neat to see how everyone comes out with such different works from the same photograph.

You will find a Survey/Questionnaire enclosed with this newsletter. Please take time to fill it out and return it to me. It is so helpful to know what you think.

The BVAL meeting is October, 1st at 12:00pm. The October meeting will be Greta Watkins. She will give a demo on mixed media techniques and how to frame and present artwork.
